Home to the Big Five, you’ll spend the whole day exploring the Samburu National Reserve, viewing elephants, zebras, rhinos, lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, ostriches and many more! Watch over 450 species of bird that visit the Waso Nyiro River, including vultures and kingfishers. There’s so much to see at the Samburu National Reserve, you’ll never want to leave!
Guests will drive south towards Lake Nakuru National Park where you’ll enjoy lunch before an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for the huge crowds of flamingoes that inhabit the shallow soda lake. The park is also home to a rhino sanctuary and lions, buffalo, warthogs and hippos.
After a light breakfast guests leave for the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive gives you the opportunity to explore Kenya’s favourite wildlife sanctuary. Over 450 different species have been recorded here. Depending on the time of year, you can see migrating wildebeest and zebra as well as whole host of other native wildlife. Immerse yourself in the local culture of the Masai tribesmen that live close to the Reserve.
You will spend the full day searching for the Reserve’s most popular inhabitants, the big cats. You’ll also see herds of elephants protecting their young and countless other exciting animals. If you’re lucky you’ll witness the spectacular wildebeest migration as they cross the Mara River. This is an incredible experience and if you have the opportunity it’s not to be missed!
If there’s anything you missed on day 5 of this fantastic tour, then day 6 is a second chance! You’ll explore the Reserve again and enjoy a picnic lunch whilst viewing the incredible wildlife. The day finishes with dinner at the Masai Village followed by a bonfire under the stars.
After a relaxed breakfast you’ll head back to your Nairobi hotel but not before one last game drive through the park!
